Stumbling onto Kindness

I recently stumbled upon an independent book publisher who requested a full manuscript of my debut novel. The possibility of getting published is extremely exciting, but my stumble also landed me the kindness of a stranger.

I contacted an author to vet the publisher - an author I did not know. She didn't have to respond, but she did. She didn't have to give me detailed information and share her own positive experience, but she did. She didn't have to share the name of her publicist and writing groups, but she did. And she didn't have to be so kind, but she was.
